Pastor Lenny Hernandez is a passionate and dynamic leader with a heart for empowering the next generation to walk boldly in their faith. Having moved to the inner city of New Haven, Lenny and his wife, Brittney, felt the call to be a beacon of light in an at-risk community. Lenny’s vision extends beyond traditional ministry; he is on a mission to equip young people to step into their God-given purpose, creating disciples who create disciples. His approach shifts the focus from the pulpit to the everyday lives of believers, inspiring them to become the hands and feet of Christ in their communities. Pastor Lenny’s energy and deep understanding of the gospel will ignite the hearts of teens at Teen Camp 2025, encouraging them to embrace their identity in Christ and live out their faith in powerful, tangible ways. "Before teen camp, I was struggling mentally and felt alone. I had put my identity in sports and a relationship that ended just days before camp. On top of that, I had knee surgery, so I hadn’t played sports in months, and my dog—who helped me through surgery—had to be put down. I couldn’t eat for weeks and felt completely empty. I kept asking God why everything was falling apart, but I didn’t realize He had a purpose behind it.
At the last minute, my Pastor's invited me to camp. I hadn’t eaten in a week, but on the way, my pastor encouraged me to eat, and for the first time in days, I was able to keep food down. That’s when I knew camp was going to change me.
The first night, during the service, I went to the altar, and one of the leaders told me, “All that hurt is going to leave.” I broke down crying—the most desperate cry I had ever cried—but for the first time, I felt God’s presence and His peace.
Teen camp surrounded me with people who had hearts for God and showed me what He can do. Just days later, I responded to a call to go to the nations. Now, I will be going to Bible college, and every step I take from here on out, I will be praising and glorifying God."

Yes, all of our staff and volunteers undergo thorough background checks to ensure the safety and well-being of every camper. Additionally, they are trained to handle various situations that may arise during camp, from first aid to providing spiritual guidance. Our staff members are also equipped with specific training to create a safe and supportive environment for children of all ages.

What if my child has never been away from home before?
We understand that sending a child away to camp for the first time can be a big step, and we are here to support both the child and the parents through this transition. Our staff is trained to help children feel comfortable, welcome, and supported, ensuring that any homesickness is addressed in a caring and understanding way. Many of our campers find that after the first day or two, they are excited and engaged in all the activities, and we provide ongoing communication with parents to keep them informed.
